Best bets: Photographer shares images, 11th annual Shop and Champagne
ROCHESTER
Nearly 80 photos by Jef Bourgeau, a multimedia artist who also works with video and sculpture, are on display at the Great Frame Up in Rochester.
“I’m inspired by the subject when I’m shooting, and when you glance at something or someone, you have to compose it and get it quickly,” says Bourgeau, who lives in Rochester.
Some of the photos measure 32-by-40 inches while others are 11-by-14; framing will be available. Bourgeau’s photographs include portraits, landscapes and cityscapes.

Discounted shopping, champagne and food are part of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center’s 11th annual Shop and Champagne.
The preview for the center’s holiday shop benefits its educational and outreach programs.
“There will be clothing, home décor, jewelry, children’s gifts, books, toys and more, and each item for sale is artisan-made, not mass-produced,” says Annie VanGelderen, the center’s president.

Ceramics, pots and sculptures at Whitdel
Explore works by more than 20 local ceramists, potters and sculptors at “Oh, Flux! A Detroit Clay Collaboration,” an exhibit at Whitdel Arts.
“It’s the first ceramics exhibition that we’ve ever held, and we’re quite excited about it,” says Jennifer Smith. “Some of the ceramists, potters and sculptors just started doing this kind of work while others have been doing it for years.”
