Best bets: Fall brings annual camper, RV show
NOVI
Folding campers, motor homes, travel-trailers, truck-campers, fifth-wheel travel-trailers and more will be on display at the 23rd annual Fall Camper and RV Show.
“We just got the statistics from the company that keeps track of how many recreational vehicles are sold in Michigan, and for the first several months of the year, through July, new sales were up 22% over last year,” said Bill Sheffer of the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds, which is presenting the event. “A couple of factors come into play for that, including the great summer weather we had as well as the fact that some people who had been wanting to buy an RV had been holding back until they were a little more financially secure. Also, financing from financial institutions seems to be more accessible.”
The event also will offer parts and accessories as well as information on campgrounds, on-site RV financing, RV rentals and more.
2-9 p.m. Wednesday and Oct. 4-5, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Oct. 6 and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 7, Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River, Novi. Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds: 517-349-8881. www.marvac.org. $8, $7 seniors, free for children 12 and younger. $5 parking.
